Payment and Policies

  • Accepted Payment Methods: The Laurel Oak Inn accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express, debit/credit cards, and gift certificates. Full payment is due at the time of booking to guarantee the reservation.
  • Gift Certificate Policy: Gift certificates will be applied towards the best available rate; they cannot be combined with discounted rates. Payment for gift certificates is collected at the time of purchase and is non-refundable.
  • Minimum Stays: A minimum stay may be required during holidays and special events.
  • Check-In/Check-Out:
  • In-person check-in is from 4:30 PM until 6:00 PM.
  • Self check-in is available anytime after 6:00 PM (or before 4:30- please let us know if before 4:30).
  • Early check-ins may be accommodated based on room availability. An early check-in fee of $25 may be added to your bill.
  • Check-out is at 11:00 AM unless prior arrangements are made. A late check-out fee of $25 per hour may be added to your final bill.
  • Breakfast: Your booking includes a buffet breakfast each morning between 8:30 - 10:00 AM.
  • Rates: Rates are subject to change without notice.
  • Business Rates: Please contact us to inquire about our discounted corporate and business rates.
  • Special Event Minimums: Special events and some holiday weekends may require a two-night minimum stay.

Additional Policies

  • Smoke-Free Environment: The Laurel Oak Inn is a smoke-free environment. Smoking (including cigarettes, cigars, candles, incense, vapor cigarettes, or any open flame) is strictly prohibited within guest rooms or common areas. A $250 cleaning fee will be automatically added to your room charges for violations. Smoking is permitted on designated outdoor porches. Please be considerate of other guests when smoking outdoors.
  • Dietary Restrictions:  Please notify us in advance if you require special food preparation. We are happy to accommodate your dietary needs upon request.
  • Pet Policy: While we love our furry friends, we cannot accommodate overnight pet stays.
  • Age Policy: Young adults over the age of 14 are welcome when accompanied by a parent or guardian. Unfortunately, our limited room sizes are not suitable for young children, toddlers, or babies. Families with children must reserve two rooms, as roll-away beds are not available.

CANCELLATION POLICY for room reservations:

Due to our small size, cancellations affect us significantly. We kindly request the following notice periods:

  • Standard Reservations: Room reservations may be canceled up to 14 days prior to your arrival date for a full refund. Cancellations made less than 14 days prior to arrival will forfeit the payment unless we can rebook the room. If we can rebook the room, the refund will be equal to the new booking amount, up to the amount originally paid.
  • Event Periods: Room reservations made during special event periods require a 75-day cancellation notice for a full refund. Cancellations made less than 75 days prior to arrival will forfeit the payment unless we can rebook the room. If we can rebook the room, the refund will be equal to the new booking amount, up to the amount originally paid.
  • Early Departures: Should you depart earlier than your confirmed departure date, you will be responsible for payment for all nights originally reserved.


Group Reservations

Groups reserving all rooms require a 60-day notice of cancellation to ensure a refund of the deposit. Cancellations within the 60-day period will incur a one-night cancellation fee per room held.


Special Event Room Reservations

All special event reservations, including University of Florida football games and graduations, require a 75-day notice to cancel without penalty.


Weather Advisory Exception

A gift certificate for a future stay may be issued if the Florida State Police announce a weather advisory that prevents you from arriving for your reservation.
